Weekend in Winterset • July 15

Even though the weather doesn’t reflect it so much today, we’re smack dab in the middle of summer and all that brings with it—sweet corn appearing at roadside stands, the Madison County Fair next week, and plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors like the Dive-In Movie!

For some, though, thoughts of back-to-school and fall activities are starting to creep in as well! Read all the way to the end of today’s post for information about Fall Soccer and Flag Football. I know more information about fall activities will be rolling out in the coming weeks and, as always, I’ll bring it all to you right here!

This Weekend

Broadway LIVE

Friday • 7/16 – 7:00pm
Saturday • 7/17 – 2:00pm and 7:00pm

This weekend is your chance to see legitimate Broadway entertainers right here in Winterset!

The once-vaudeville stage of Winterset’s historic theater will be filled with the sights and sounds of four Broadway performers, as they share their favorite musical theater tunes during each one-hour show.

The vocalists are traveling to Iowa expressly to benefit the Iowa Theater. Once Broadway reopens this fall, they will be back onstage in New York making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity only possible as a result of the pandemic. (silver lining!)

We posted an entire edition about this event a couple of weeks ago. If you missed it, you can read the full post here. There are still tickets available for all three performances and at a variety of price points from $25 – $100.

Dive-In Movie

Friday • 7/16 • 8:30pm
Winterset Aquatic Center

Take an evening swim tomorrow from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Winterset Aquatic Center and then stay for the Dive-In Movie, Moana. Cost for evening swim is $4, or a season pass. Entrance to the movie is free and will begin at dusk. Bring your own chair or blanket and snacks!!
