Way Back Wednesday at the Iowa Theater

Way Back Wednesday films in the month of April are celebrating the career of Katherine Hepburn with films that demonstrate her talent and range.

Johnny (Cary Grant) seems like a solid match for Julia (Doris Nolan), the socialite daughter of Edward Seton (Henry Kolker). Assured that Johnny is a worthy suitor, Edward approves of the pairing. But, as Johnny’s wanderlust surfaces — he is more interested in traveling than in business — Edward starts to have doubts. Johnny also begins to wonder if he might not be a better match for Linda (Katharine Hepburn), Julia’s outspoken younger sister, with whom he has much more in common. 1938, Not Rated, 1 hr, 35 min

Optimist Student of the Month

The Winterset Optimist Club recently selected Charlie Anker as the latest Optimist Student of the Month. Charlie was nominated by High School Math Teacher, Anne Wieck. She says, “Charlie is always in a good mood. He is kind to his peers. Charlie works hard to do his best. Currently, we are hosting a foreign exchange student…and Charlie has stepped up to help include him and bring him home from practice and school events. Charlie is a genuinely great kid!” Charlie is pictured with his father, Dave Anker, and grandfather, Gary Anker, also a member of the Winterset Optimist Club.
