Weekend in Winterset • July 5

Darrell Vossekuil,  Vice President, and Wayne Martens, treasurer, presented Kevin Johnson with a $500 donation to support the work of the Tree Commission here in Winterset. According to Johnson, more than $12,500 has been raised recently to support new tree planting costs after the devastation of the emerald ash borer trees lost in the city the past several years.

Our friends at Graham’s Game Café actually have several fun events planned this weekend.

Friday, July 5

  • First Friday Fundraiser Benefiting the Winterset American Legion
  • Veterans & Active Military (and their families) play free!
  • Scary Movie Night (starts at 7pm and will be rated R)

Saturday, July 6

  • Open LATE with Adults Only (21+) hours from 7-10pm and BYOB is allowed (regular hours are 3-7pm)

Sunday, July 7

  • Cribbage Club – come to play or learn. This is Graham’s mom’s game of choice so if you can beat her, you’ll get a coupon for a free admission!

Regular Hours are 5-9 on Friday, 3-10 on Saturday, and 2-6 on Sunday


House-raising Hoedown

Help the Gainuss family get a house at this family friendly evening of food, fun & fundraising! Ryan & Mandy Gainuss lost their home in the 2022 tornado and have been living in their shed, without indoor plumbing. LET’S GET THEM IN A HOUSE!
