Madison County Historical Complex
The Winterset Community Band will share a patriotic salute tonight at their annual Ron Fletcher Memorial Concert. The Winterset Masonic Lodge will start serving pulled pork sandwiches at 6:00 and the music will begin at 7:00. Winterset Gymnastics is the intermission entertainment.

Iowa Quilt Museum
If you have family visiting with the upcoming holiday, it’s a perfect time to visit the Iowa Quilt Museum and see their new exhibit of textile portraits of people and pets. It’s a really wonderful display! The IQM is open Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sundays Noon – 4:00pm. It will be closed on July 4th.

When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature. Kids of all ages are welcome to join the Madison County Conservation for their youth fishing nights. Bring your pole or borrow one of theirs (supplies limited). Bait is provided.
2024 Youth Fishing Nights are July 9, July 23, Aug 6 & Aug 20. All kids must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Fishing licenses are required for anyone age 16+.
