I find it wonderfully serendipitous that this month’s Way Back Wednesday features have showcased films starring Tom Hanks, culminating perfectly with the release of his latest movie to close out the month! Hanks is joined by Robin Wright (Jenny in Forrest Gump) in this generational story about families and the special place they inhabit, sharing in love, loss, laughter, and life. PG-13, 1 hr 44 min

This one is a Thanksgiving Tradition at The Iowa and Popcorn is always Half Price on Way Back Wednesday!
Easily excitable Neal Page (Steve Martin) is somewhat of a control freak. Trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and kids, his flight is rerouted to a distant city in Kansas because of a freak snowstorm, and his sanity begins to fray. Worse yet, he is forced to bunk up with talkative Del Griffith (John Candy), whom he finds extremely annoying. Together they must overcome the insanity of holiday travel to reach their intended destination. 1987, Rated R, 1 hr 33 min

Winterset Ballet & Dance at The Iowa Theater

Winterset Ballet and Dance Studio is once again proud to bring this timeless holiday classic ballet to our local community! Dancers will bring to lifee the story of a young girl, Clara, celebrating Christmas with her family, the Stahlbaums. She receives a Nutcracker from her Godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer, and this sets off a memorable evening of magical events and characters.
Winterset Ballet and Dance Studio will present six performances of The Nutcracker from December 6-December 8 at the historic Iowa Theater in Winterset with 3 evening and 3 daytime shows. If you have a favorite dancer you’ll want to check with them to see which shows they are in as each performance consists of a different cast of dancers.
