And Finally…

Gary & Debbie Heck at the Winterset Cidery asked us to pass this message along to all of you on their behalf.

Five years ago we made a decision that would change our lives. You all have heard the story—quit our jobs, sell our stuff, move to Winterset. In those five years we turned fourteen acres of pasture into a beautiful cidery and orchard for everyone to enjoy, and we made so many friends along the way.

When we opened our doors for the first time in May, 2016, we didn’t know if anyone would come through those doors. And if they did, would they like our cider? Would they be willing to try our cider? To say the least you all exceeded our expectations. You embraced us as a business and as friends. We wish we could thank each of you in person and tell you how much your friendship means to us.

This chapter of our lives was always meant to be about five years long, time to build the cidery and watch it grow. It is time for us to move onto our next chapter: grand-parenting and full-time retirement. With mixed emotions, we have sold the cidery to a wonderful, younger couple who have the passion and energy to take Winterset Cidery to the next level. We ask that you embrace them as you did us.

So thank you all for the wonderful experiences and helping us fulfill one of our dreams!

We’d like to extend our “Congratulations” to the Hecks and wish them the very best as they move on to their next adventure. Thanks for bringing your vision to our community, Gary & Debbie!
