Celebrating our October Citizen of the Month: Natalie Montross

Presented by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce

Last week, we recognized Natalie Montross as the Madison County Chamber of Commerce’s October Citizen of the Month! Natalie was presented with her certificate during Chamber Coffee, hosted by Rainbow Restoration.

Natalie has dedicated 30 years to the Winterset Community School District and has spent years supporting Madison County families through her involvement in local organizations and community programs. We’re grateful for the time, care, and commitment she continues to give to our community.

Want to learn more about Natalie and what inspires her service? Read her full story in the last week’s October 29 edition of The Citizen.

Who should we recognize next? We’re accepting nominations for November’s Citizen of the Month! Think of a neighbor, coworker, volunteer, student, or young person making a positive difference in Madison County. Community service and kindness can happen at any age.

She has made appearances on stage at the Des Moines Playhouse in several shows, notably as Mrs. Brill in Mary Poppins and as Mother Superior in Sister Act. She has also performed the National Anthem at various venues across Iowa, including the Iowa Cubs, Iowa Barnstormers, and Knoxville Raceway.

In addition to performing locally, they host a yearly workshop in Winterset, Iowa, bringing in professional instructors for a weekend of classes and performances. It is a source of positive support for the dance community and financial support for local businesses.
