It’s always fun to get a peek inside someone else’s home, and there are seven magnificent and unique properties on the list for this year’s tour. You can purchase your ticket in advance at: Pine Creek, Spoons Full of Sugar, Salon 107, White Cottage Market, Madison County Chamber, Re-Home, Madison County Mercantile and Evergreen & Lily Floral. On Saturday, you can purchase a ticket at the Lakeview Country Club clubhouse.

Santa on the Hill

It’s that time of year when Santa is making his list and checking it twice! Before he finalizes it, stop by The Hill to make sure he has your wish list right! The first 200 children will receive a goodie bag, and there will be popcorn and hot cocoa for all! This event is free and open to the public.
Community Choir Christmas Concert

The spirit of the season comes alive as the Madison County Community and Youth Choirs join forces for a magical holiday concert! This collaborative concert showcases the musical talent and community spirit that define Madison County.
This festive event promises an enchanting evening filled with beloved Christmas carols and a special performance of Handel’s majestic Hallelujah Chorus. The choirs, comprised of dedicated singers of all ages, have been diligently preparing to deliver a heartwarming and memorable performance that captures the essence of the holiday season.
As a special treat, the Madison County Community Choir extends an open invitation to any interested singers in the audience to join in on the singing of the Hallelujah Chorus. This inclusive opportunity encourages community members to be part of the musical celebration and share in the joy of creating beautiful music together.

I’m not as fanatical about Wicked as some people—but I have seen the musical live twice and have seen my fair share of musicals in general. I was skeptical of this movie adaptation of a really moving and powerful musical. I questioned the casting choice of Ariana Grande, and when I learned that this 2 hour and 40 minute movie only covered the first act of the musical, I was flabbergasted. And when I saw it, I was blown away!
The storytelling and character development were outstanding. The singing, dancing, and acting were superb. The costumes, sets and effects were magnificent. Suffice it to say, I definitely recommend you see this—I think it lives up to the hype! It will be playing for two weekends at the Iowa Theater.
It’s a GREAT day to be a Winterset Citizen—

In this four-week class, students will learn basic leather crafting skills: pattern transfer, cutting, beveling, stamping, and applying finishing touches. This class is recommended for ages 13 and over. The cost is $40 and will include the use of tools and all supplies.
