Celebrate Independence Day

I grew up on Osceola where Independence Day is celebrated with a multi-day carnival, a massive parade, and at least 2 days of almost non-stop activities including entertainment on the downtown stage. So imagine my surprise when, just a month after I moved to Winterset in 2006, I hadn’t heard a single word about a Fourth of July Parade or any such festivities.
