The small town of Bottleneck is under the control of Kent (Brian Donlevy), a power-hungry boss who gets control over the local cattle ranchers by winning a rigged game of cards. When the local sheriff questions the legitimacy of the game, Kent has him killed and names the town drunk, Dimsdale (Charles Winninger), as sheriff. What Kent doesn’t know is that Dimsdale knows legendary lawman Tom Destry, who in turns sends his daring son Tom Destry Jr. (James Stewart) to Bottleneck to save the day. 1929, Not Rated, 1 hr 43 min

Auditions for 9 to 5 The Musical

Sunday • April 13 • 2:00pm
Monday • April 14 • 7:00pm
The Winterset Stage at Madison County Music Co

The Winterset Stage will be producing another community musical this summer—Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical. Auditions are open to anyone 16+ (there are no roles for kids in the production.) Those wanting to audition need only need to attend one of the sessions. Nothing needs to be prepared in advance: scenes and songs will be provided and rehearsed at the audition sessions. To audition sign up at THIS LINK.

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s. this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she?
