George Washington Carver is the topic for this month’s discussion at History on the Hill o’ Beans. To celebrate the State of Iowa’s George Washington Carver Day which was February 1st, Linda Griffith Smith will present what we know of Carver’s two years in Winterset and how he was influenced to continue his education. This event is free and open to the public. Head up to ‘the hill’ for a cup of coffee with some fellowship and learning.

Grant Writing 101

Music Together Classes
Wednesdays at 9:30am and 4:30pm Starting March 1st
Kinder Choir

Music Together Classes
Music together is an opportunity for toddlers and preschoolers to sing, dance, and play along with an adult (parent, grandparent, caregiver). The 10-week session will begin on March 1st and two classes are being offered: 9:30am and 4:30pm. Tuition is $100 for one child, $160 for a family with 2+ children.
Kinder Choir
Four, five and six year old musicians are invited to explore singing in a group! This choir will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 3:45 – 4:15 for 10 weeks starting March 1st. The session will conclude with a final performance on Saturday, May 13th, at 7:00pm.
If needed, transportation can be provided from Winterset Elementary to rehearsal. Parents must make arrangements for transportation after rehearsal, though.
Hunter Education Course

Pammel Park Nature Center & Madison County Sportsmen Club
The Madison County Conservation Board is offering a traditional Hunter Education Course for the general public. The class is three sessions, which consist of two evening session and one morning session, all session must be attended to complete the class. The class sessions will be on Tuesday, March 7th, and Thursday, March 9th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Pammel Park Nature Center, 2508 Pammel Park Trail, and on Saturday, March 11th, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Madison County Sportsmen Club, 4224 Cedar Bridge Road.
