Madison County Farmers Market

Saturday • 6/22 • 8:00 am – Noon

Free Car Seat Inspections

Saturday • 6/22 • 9:00 am – Noon
Winterset Elementary Parking Lot

According to authorities, more than 90% of the car seats inspected are being used incorrectly! And many families discontinue car seat use too early; 8-10 year olds should still be in a booster seat. Do you know that your child is being properly protected as you travel in your vehicle this summer? Bring your vehicle with carseats and children to Winterset Elementary this Saturday morning for a free inspection. If you can find them, bring your vehicle owners manual and car seat manual too.

This free event is sponsored by Madison County Cares, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Optimist Club, Lions Club, Madison County Public Health and Safe Kids of Greater Des Moines. Call 515-468-1524 with questions. In case of rain, the event will have to be cancelled.

You won’t want to miss this Sunday’s concert at the Earlham City Park from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. You may want to pack an extra set of clothes for the kids because the Earlham firefighters will be hosting water games, too.

This Weekend at the Iowa Theater

Aladdin

Even though it’s taking a new form as a live-action film instead of animation, Aladdin is still the funny-sentimental-inspirational story of a poor “street rat” who comes into possession of a magic lamp and a magic carpet, summons a big blue genie, and embarks on a scheme to win the heart of a princess and stop an evil vizier from stealing the kingdom away from the heroine’s dad. Rated: PG (for some action/peril)  128 minutes.
