Weekend in Winterset, November 8th – 11th, 2018

Submit some photos!

This week’s Facebook cover photo comes to us from fellow Winterset Citizen and Madison County Tourism director Teddi Yeager. Keep sending in your favorite photos—we love seeing Winterset through your lenses. Email them to us at thewintersetcitizen@gmail.com or send us a Facebook message.

GIVING THANKS

We’re continuing our ‘month of giving thanks’ today and would like to express our gratitude to a few more of our sponsors. If you’ve been thinking of selling your home, don’t dismiss the idea of listing it now instead of waiting until spring. There are several advantages to listing this time of year and our friends at Covered Bridges Realty and Homefront Realty will be more than happy to help you!

And if you do end up buying or selling a house, among the hundreds of details to take care of, insurance will be right at the top. When you need someone to translate all the insurance jargon for you and help you find the right coverage, Scot Clark with Farm Bureau Financial Services, Charlotte Speer with State Farm, or the crew at Johnson Insurance can lend a hand. And you’ll know that you have a local contact if you should have a problem.

Our sponsors help make sure that our posts come to you every week and that community announcements are included free of charge.

Thank you to all of our Winterset Citizen Sponsors!

Something Cool We Saw This Week

Several storefronts on our historic town square are undergoing rehabilitation. Winterset was on the receiving end of a very large grant to help make all this possible and, while it looks a little dreary in the interim, it’s going to be a wonderful facelift for our shopping district. On the south side of the square, Madison County Mercantile and Piece Works are in the process of getting windows replaced. Hopefully the plywood will be down and the glass will return soon!
