Once home to the most advanced civilization on Earth, the city of Atlantis is now an underwater kingdom ruled by the power-hungry King Orm. With a vast army at his disposal, Orm plans to conquer the remaining oceanic people — and then the surface world. Standing in his way is Aquaman, Orm’s half-human, half-Atlantean brother and true heir to the throne. Coming Soon

Lessons of the Holocaust

Thursday • 1/31 • 6:30 – 7:30pm
Winterset Public Library

On Thursday, January 31st, Brad Wilkening, member of the Iowa Commission on Holocaust Education, will be at the Winterset Library with his presentation Lessons of the Holocaust. “Bullying and indifference start at an early age, and we have a responsibility to help create a safer more caring environment. We need to be upstanders and not bystanders in the face of evil. My goal is to keep the lessons of the holocaust alive.”

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust. The day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution and urges every member nation of the U.N. to honor the memory of Holocaust victims, and encourages the development of educational programs about Holocaust history to help prevent future acts of genocide. It rejects any denial of the Holocaust as an event and condemns all manifestations of religious intolerance, incitement, harassment or violence against persons or communities based on ethnic origin or religious belief.
