Drinking Habits

Tickets are on sale now for the next Winterset Stage production, Drinking Habits. Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.

The Winterset American Legion and Auxiliary are gearing up for their spring pancake breakfast and bake sale on April 13th. Proceeds from this event will go toward continued renovations on the legion hall—this time the interior lighting. Just like IHOP…Come hungry. Leave happy.™

Cultivating Connections Project Launch

Madison County Historical Complex

The Madison County Conservation board invites you to join them to learn more about their new conservation project: Cultivating Connections. This project connects the dots between the health of the environment, human health, and community health. Each person will leave with ideas on how they can build and protect habitat by cultivating connections in nature and to each other. Free native plants will be given out (while supplies last) and an optional guided hike will follow.

Madison County Community Choir

The Winterset Community Choir will join the cast of Willy Wonka Kids for a musical theater extravaganza next Saturday. The choir will serve as the ‘opening act,’ performing six musical theater tunes. Following a short intermission, the Winterset Stage and Madison County Music Co.’s musical theater class will bring Willy Wonka Kids to life. There is only one performance of this event! Tickets are available at the door for a $5 suggested donation.

Gainuss Fundraiser Meal

Ryan and Mandy Gainuss lost their home during the tornado. Two years later, they are still without a new house. I know how great this community is at rallying around someone in need and I’m sure that we can help them get back on track in no time! If you’re not able to attend this drive-through meal event, you can also make a direct donation through Reveal Church. Select the ‘Gainuss House Fund’ in the giving area.
