Live at the Winterset Cidery
The Nadas—Iowa’s signature alt-rock-country band—has sold more than 200,000 albums through their own label, Authentic Records, and will be playing live at the Winterset Cidery this Friday night. There will also be four food trucks on sight to make sure you don’t go hungry while you’re sipping on cider and enjoying the tunes. Tickets are $20 per car if pre-purchased online or $10 per person at the door.

Jesse & The Medicine Men

Covered Bridges Winery
Jesse and the Medicine Men will be entertaining wine lovers at Covered Bridges Winery Saturday night from 7:00 to 10:00 and Karam’s Mediterranean Grill Food Truck will on hand starting at 6:30pm. Weather permitting, the music will be outside so bring a blanket or chair as seating is limited. Social distancing is required and face masks are required to enter the tasting room. There is a $5 cover charge for this live music event.

Pumpkin Ranch
Open Every Weekend through October 31

A trip to the Pumpkin Ranch, located South of Winterset, has become an iconic fall activity for many families—especially those of us with kids still in the house.
The Pumpkin Ranch officially opened for the season last weekend and, in addition the corn maze, zip line, jump pillow, hay rack rides, tunnel slides, obstacle course and other outdoor activities, there are some special events planned most weekends. Every Friday from 10:00 to 5:00, you can take advantage of the Pumpkin Pick Up—drive up, point out the pumpkin(s) you want and someone will load it for you. You’ll never even have to leave your car.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to give up the pick-it-yourself experience, but aren’t quite ready to join the crowds, you can head out to the farm every Friday from 10:00 to 4:00 for socially distant pumpkin picking. This Saturday, Mikayla Oz Magic will be performing 30 minute shows at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 and on Sundays you can get free horse rides.
General admission to The Pumpkin Ranch is $9.50 per person on Saturdays and Sundays and $7 on Fridays. Children 2 and under are free. Admission includes all activities that are offered that day.
Howell’s Pumpkin Patch

The Howell’s Farm has been in the family for 6 generations, today represented by Fred and Cindy Howell and three adult children. The farm covers a little over 800 acres outside Cumming and for years, the rolling farm land and pastures were used for growing corn, beans, hogs, and cattle.
In 1985, Fred began raising flowers specifically for dried florals and today those flowers cover more than 15 acres. In 1999, Fred and Cindy opened up the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, and began the special fun of sharing their beautiful farm with visitors from far and wide. Guests can enjoy the Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze, the Kiddie Korral full of activities and excitement for young children, the Halloween Gift Shop, fall foods, wagon rides, a super selection of fall decorations, and a tour of the dried flowers and the unique and beautiful displays of gifts and florals in the historic 1910 barn.
Admission to the Pumpkin Patch is $11 which covers most everything. A few extra activities, like the zip line and pumpkin cannon, are available at an additional cost. This weekend happens to be Heroes Weekend where active and veteran military members, law enforcement officers, fireman and first responders get free admission and half price admission for up to 4 family members with ID.
