This is a webinar through the Iowa State Extension Service which will be broadcast at the library.

Cribbage Club

Wednesdays • 2:00 – 4:00pm
Winterset Public Library

My dad taught me how to play Cribbage when I was just a kid, but until two days ago I had never played with anyone outside of my family. My workload was a little lighter this week, so I played hookie for an hour and visited the Wednesday afternoon Cribbage club. It was a good decision on my part thanks to the friendly competition and the lively conversation. Players gather every Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00pm to play, and you’re welcome to join them anytime—whether you’ve played for years or want to learn a new game!

A Streetcar Named Desire

Wednesday • January 12 • 7:00pm
The Iowa Theater

The Iowa Theater re-opens on Wednesday with the first Way Back Wednesday film of the new year. Remember that popcorn is half price on Wednesdays!

Based on the play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski (Kim Hunter), and her husband, Stanley (Marlon Brando), in New Orleans. Blanche’s flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household. 1951, Rated PG, 2 hr 2 min
