NOW Playing at the Iowa Theater

Maleficent travels to a grand old castle to celebrate young Aurora’s upcoming wedding to Prince Phillip. While there, she meets Aurora’s future mother-in-law—a conniving queen who hatches a devious plot to destroy the land’s fairies. Winterset High School Drama & Music Departments

Husky Drama and the WHS Music Department proudly present Roald Dahl’s Matilda, the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. General admission tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults and are available at the door. Performances are held in Henry C Miller Auditorium at Winterset High School.


Veterans Breakfast

Winterset American Legion Hall

Join the Winterset American Legion on Saturday morning for a Veterans Breakfast! The event will be held at the American Legion Hall, located at 223 N.1st Ave. in Winterset. Enjoy sausage gravy and biscuits, plus eggs and drinks, and don’t forget to bring something home from the Auxiliary Bake Sale! Tickets to the event are $5 for adults, and $3 for children 10 and under.


A Guide through Watercolor

Winterset Art Center

 

 

Be inspired to create with Sara Reed this, the second session of the Guided Watercolor Workshop. No experience is necessary and all ideas, materials, and supplies are included. The cost is $20 per session for WAC Members and $23 per sessions for non-members. This workshop is recommended for ages 14 and up. Register online with the Winterset Art Center to attend.

 

Photography Exhibit & ‘Meet the Artist Events’

The Winterset Art Center is presenting a new art gallery exhibition that opens this Saturday and will be on display through December 20th, featuring nature and landscape photography by Madison County resident, Tom Moss.

Moss recently won first place judges’ honors in both Professional Photography and People’s Choice categories during the Covered Bridge Festival Photography Competition. He also won a Blue Ribbon in the Madison County Farm Bureau and Soil and Water District Conservation Photo Contest.

“Meet the Artist” events at the Winterset Art Center will be hosted Saturday, November 9, from Noon to 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and again Wednesday, November 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Charlotte’s Web

The Winterset Stage (at the Iowa Theater)

 

 

Tickets are selling fast for The Winterset Stage’s production of the beloved story of Charlotte’s Web. Friday evening and Sunday afternoon performances have already sold out, but the folks at The Winterset Stage have added an extra performance for Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm. Thanks to the generosity of the Winterset Optimist and Rotary Clubs, tickets for children are only $5 for this matinee performance so pack up the kids and a few of their friends, and head out to see Wilbur, Charlotte, and all of their friends.

These performances will take place at the Iowa Theater, the home of The Winterset Stage, on 121 N John Wayne Drive. Tickets are available online through The Winterset Stage (don’t try to buy them from the Iowa Theater, they won’t be able to help you.)

Crafts, decorations and homemade goodies will be ALL OVER Winterset on Saturday, November 23rd. Breakfast, lunch & lots of baked goods will be available so, it will literally be impossible to finish this trek hungry! As you eat your way around town, stop by every location, fill up your punchcard, drop it off at St. Paul Lutheran before 1:30 pm and you will be entered in a drawing to receive a $35 gift card.
