Krazy Dayz

It’s time for the annual Krazy Dayz sales on the downtown square. Enjoy the surprisingly awesome weather this weekend and check out the sidewalk sales and bargains.
Ice Cream Social

If you’re a fan of homemade ice cream and pies (and, really, who isn’t?), head to the Methodist Church on Friday evening. You can even get your dinner there, too. The friendly folks at First UMC will be serving Beef Burgers along with a variety of ice cream flavors (with toppings), pies and bars. A free-will offering will be taken to support the church’s various mission projects.

Va bene! Join Lisa Allesandro from local restaurant “Anything Sweet and More,” and learn two quick and easy-to-make recipes that bring out the best in rich Italian spices and food flavors. This event is free and open to the public at the Winterset Public library this Saturday at 10:30 am.
Car Wash

Hy-Vee Parking Lot
If you’ve got the “gravel dust is makin’ my red car look gray” blues, the Winterset HS Dance Team is ready to help you out. On Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, they’ll be washing cars in the Hy-Vee parking lot for a free-will donation.

The Winterset Stage
The Winterset Stage is offering two more chances for your young dramatists to get on stage this summer—Play in a Day, Jr., on Tuesday, July 30th, and Play in a Day, Sr., on Wednesday, July 31st. In these workshops, young actors will work together to produce a short play from beginning to end that they can perform for their families. There’s a place for all youngsters whether they’re seasoned actors or have never set foot on a stage. Register online with the Winterset Stage or give them a call at 515-462-5156.
One More Camp with Madison County Conservation
Night Owls • July 30 – August 1 • 7:00 – 10:00pm • Ages 8-12
As of today, there were four spots remaining in Night Owls Camp where kids ages 8-12 can explore Pammel Park at night and discover all of the wonderful creatures that make the night come alive.
The cost is $25 per child and you can register at www.mycountyparks.com.
Canonball Pump & Run
Saturday • August 3rd • 7:00am

This Winterset tradition is a unique athletic event—participants are required to bench press their body weight (or a % of) as many times as possible, then run a mile or a 5K. Each successful repetition of the bench press earns competitors 15 seconds off their mile or 5K finish time. The winner of each age division will be the fastest time after deductions are figured in, thus demonstrating both endurance and strength. Proceeds from this event go to the Winterset Rotary Scholarship Fund Youth Exchange & the Winterset School Activity Fund. Contact Roger Queck to get registered.
