There are also opportunities to celebrate The Duke’s birthday at a county barn dance on Friday night at the Jackson Building, Breakfast at the Firehouse on Saturday morning, a horse parade on Saturday at 11:00 and the John Wayne Birthplace Museum’s benefit dinner & auction on Saturday night. Finally

Holiday Flag Program Opportunity

You still have time before Memorial Day to become a participant in the Holiday Flag program sponsored by the Winterset Lions, Winterset Optimist and Boy Scout Troop 121. For $30 each year, a flag will be placed in your yard on five patriotic holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day & Veterans Day. The flag is placed in the morning and removed at the end of the day and you don’t have to lift a finger. Download a printable version of the registration form here and return it to Ted Leonard or Daryle Johnson (addresses on the form). You can also call 515-971-9164 (Ted) or 515-249-8110 (Daryle) if you need more information. This a fabulous service that these organizations provide—seeing our down turned out in patriotic glory is wonderful on these holidays!
