The Iowa will host live music Friday, September 7th, with Danika & The Jeb. If when you hear the term ‘acoustic duo’ you imagine two people sitting on stools, lightly strumming guitars, singing about how life has treated them poorly, think again. Danika & the Jeb are dynamic, uplifting, and fun, while their music is a soulful combination of artfully written songs and powerful musical phrasing. Danika’s belief is that a well written song can embody all emotions of the human existence, and she articulates that beautifully with her slightly raspy yet warm voice and truthful lyrics.

Tickets are $10 and are available on The Iowa’s website or at the door.

Join the Central Iowa Auto Club for their last Classic Car Show & Shine of the season to be held on the Winterset square from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 8th. Enjoy oldies music and great classic vehicles! Free to the public and no entry fee for car participants. Door prizes to be drawn at 6:30pm. The Winterset Vocal Boosters will be on hand selling sandwiches as a fundraiser to replace choir robe stoles (that fancy thing that hangs around the neck).

The Meg starts and ends the weekend with Disney’s Christopher Robin sandwiched in the middle showing as a matinee on Saturday & Sunday. In The Meg, a massive creature attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific. With time running out, a visionary oceanographer recruits rescue diver to save the crew and the sea itself from an unimaginable threat — a 75-foot-long prehistoric shark known as the Megalodon.   PG-13 / 1 hr, 52 min
