Weekend in Winterset, Feb. 23-25

Next weekend a new stage production is opening at The Iowa Theater: The Hound of the Baskervilles, produced by The Winterset Stage. In this thriller, an ancient family curse, a desolate moor, a spectral hound and a deranged killer are on the loose. The Hound of the Baskervilles is the most celebrated Holmes story of all, a masterpiece of mystery and suspense. And it’s really scary! The story of Sherlock Holmes’ investigation into the monstrous beast terrorizing the dark and dangerous moors has gripped people’s imaginations since it first appeared in print in 1901. This adaptation has taken all the familiar elements of the tale, and through an exhilarating collision of verbal slapstick, absurd scenarios and wonderfully ridiculous comic performances, have managed to create one of the most sublimely funny versions of a classic that you are ever likely to see. Get your tickets in advance at www.thewintersetstage.org.
